We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with the BVI International Arbitration Centre (BVI IAC) as they prepare for their annual Arbitration Week. Recently, Shan Greer, and CEO of BVI IAC and advisor to its Board, took the stage in a webinar hosted by Global Indian to discuss the unique landscape of arbitration in the Caribbean. Shan Greer is a leading lawyer and arbitration specialist who brings over 20 years of first-hand legal experience and expertise across the Caribbean. She is an entrepreneur and educator at heart and has made a substantial difference in the lives of many within her region.
During the webinar, Shan Greer highlighted key points about the Caribbean’s alignment with international arbitration standards, noting that many Caribbean jurisdictions, including the British Virgin Islands, follow systems based on English common law, known for its stability and robust framework in arbitration. These systems attract international entities needing transparent, efficient dispute resolution, from corporate and shareholder disputes to maritime and investment conflicts.
